Twisted Mixtape: Happy Songs

Warning: Whining ahead.

Over the weekend I was checking out Google + which is something I rarely do.  However, I thought that if I was going to blog more regularly I should keep up with social media.

I was looking at my own profile and thought the photo albums seemed redundant and deleted a few of them.  One of those deleted albums contained all of the photos contained in every post on my blog.  I did not know that deleting the album from Google+ would remove the photos from my blog.

Do you understand?  All of the photos in my blog, every single one, was gone.

I'd like to say I've been working since Sunday to replace these photos.  But honestly, everytime I log on, I add a few, then become discouraged.  It's over two years of photos...carefully thought out to accompany each post...

I am especially upset because the page that contains stories about inspiring women that I was currating from guest bloggers (Wednesday's Woman)  now looks like this:

On top of that there's the cold weather, my lack luster dedication to my New Year's resolutions, the cold weather...the cold weather...the cold weather.

This week's Twisted Mixtape theme is timely.  In two words, the theme is "happy songs."  I need them right about now.  I will be listening to all of them linked up over at Jen's for the Twisted Mixtape bloghop.  If you need a lift in spirits, you should too.

Liner Notes on my "Happy Songs":  These songs' themes may or may not be happiness.  When I hear them they make me happy.  I hope they do the same for you.

Happy Songs

1- Say Hey (I Love You) - Michael Franti and Spearhead

2 - Food In The Belly - Xavier Rudd

Live (because you can't leave an Xavier Rudd show feeling anything but happy)

Studio version in case you don't have seven minutes

3 - Talk on Indolence - The Avett Brothers

3 - Ray of Light - Madonna

5 - Elevation - U2

  1. I'm so sorry about the pictures Kim! 2 years worth....I can understand getting discouraged. Sometimes it can be an excuse to kind of start over, create a new beginning, find new pictures you like more, etc. It is a lot but your blog is already looking back to normal. Happy Friday, hope you have a good weekend and your happy songs help in the process. That "Say Hey (I Love You) just made me smile :)

    1. Thanks, Anna, and thanks for helping me figure out what the problem was. I was thinking about starting completely over, however, I am having trouble letting go of Wednesday's Woman.

I am grateful for your encouragement and support.

      Much love to you!

  2. Regarding the pictures, I would have cried for sure! Actually, I am pretty sure I've done that before, which is why I link from Flickr now. And I love this Mix Tape. Such good songs! Happy is good. :)

  3. Yes! Awesome! And OMG!! I am SOOOOO SORRY! I had something similar happen when someone who I thought knew what they were doing redesigned my blog. We transferred to a new URL and she forgot to transfer all of my images BEFORE shutting down the old blog permanently. So I lost all the images on all my posts pre-april 2013. If you go back far enough, you will see I haven't even finished replacing them. I almost quit blogging the day I realized that happened. So trust me I totally feel your pain. Do a little every couple of days. That's what I did. And then eventually I started thinking, no one will go back this far. But even last week I put some images back in a post. So it's been what, 10 months, and I still haven't finished. That doesn't mean you won't, I don' t mean that....I just mean, take your time.
I hope this mix helped a little....I wish I could help.
